BIO

For as long as I can remember, I've been a creative.  I spent most of my childhood playing five instruments, drawing cartoon characters, writing short stories, and obsessing over movies and television shows. I think that I somehow always knew what career path my interests would take me to.

For a year, I was a producer fellow with Disney’s Owned Television Stations. In this role, I had the opportunity to spend 9 months with ABC Localish, a lifestyle brand that focuses on telling human interest stories. I pitched, produced, filmed and edited my own series, The Black Renaissance, where I profile three black entrepreneurs in New York that use their businesses to affect change within their communities.

As a part of the Localish team, I had the opportunity to work alongside the E-commerce producer. In this role, I was responsible for researching products for our audience that ranged from New Year’s Eve party essentials to unique gifts at every price point. These articles were written in AP Style, and my product choices were featured on “ABC Secret Sales” and our “It’s A Big Deal” E-Commerce segments.

My role sourcing user generated content to be posted across Localish social media platforms like Tik Tok and YouTube shorts showed me the importance of knowing your audience across different platforms. I was responsible for finding videos that would perform well on multiple platforms with different algorithms and different levels of engagement from our audiences.

While much of the content that I produced for Localish was short form, I had the ability to assist as a production assistant for longer form content. This included complex human-interest stories that touch on the influx of migrants in New York City, as well as an hour long documentary, Our America: In the Black in collaboration with Microsoft Philanthropy.

I strive to create content that positively influences audiences and encourages them to think critically about the world.
